Slim vs Fatboy vs Futur

I have a EJ89 (as my main razor) and I had my mind set for an open comb but now I'm more interested in an adjustable razor. What I really want is to try something more aggresssive than my EJ. I know price differs between these razors but apart from that which of these razor do you find to be the best, most value or any opinion whatsoever would be appreciated.

As a NOOB I have to say that I like the Slim so much better than my fatboy. I'm counting down my 45 days til I can sell it on here

Could you please specify what makes the Slim better than the Fatboy.

I have been using a ej89l since as my first DE since Christmas. I just picked up a Slim h2 1962 version. I love it so far, I went with this instead of the Fatboy because I wanted the smaller head to get under my nose

Well the smaller head of the Slim seems to be a better choice for me as well.

I didn't have any problems with the Fatboy under my nose. People have brought up the lower profile of the head, but other lower profile razors dont give me the same results the Slim does. Definitely my favorite thus far.

I got a slim and a fatboy. I like the slim much better. For me, it just gives a better shave. I'm not sure if it's the lower profile head or something else. Since they can be found for cheap, keep an eye out and try to get both.

Not to throw another in the works, but I'd look at a progress too. It's a really nice shaver.

Yes of course its also the Progress but I have to confess it looks awkward with the white
knob, not to my liking at all

My two daily shavers are a Fat Boy and a Slim. I love them both!

If I could only have one it would be the Fat Boy. I like the heft, and the shorter and thicker handle. But both are vintage classics.

The lower dome of the Slim is somewhat easier to work under the nose but one gets used to the Fat Boy and I find the difference a (near) non-issue.

+1. I didn't want to suggest it since it's not exactly cheap. I've got an XL and it's the best razor I've ever used.

You can always get a different knob for the progress. A few people make them.

I had several slims and FBs. The fattie gave me a better shave, not sure why. Wouldn't say it's more aggressive than the Edwin Jagger.
If you want to try something else, I'd suggest a NEW.

Well, since you want the smaller head that will rule out the Futur. Its head is rather bulky, but I find that between the WTG and ATG pass you can pretty much clean up under the nose area just fine. I will say that a Futur set to 3.5 with a feather will pretty much mow down anything in its path, 3 day growth included. If I miss a couple days for whatever reason I reach for the futur.....with the larger blade gap it is harder to clog up and easier to clean out after a pass. Day to day shaves I just reach for my open comb razors.
