I decided to surprise my father by restoring his grandfather's straight razor. It is a Wadsworth XLNT that originally had the faux bamboo scales. The blade is extra hollow and had a decent amount of rust on the edge. I wasn't sure if it was even worth trying to restore but the blade cleaned up great. Now I'm just waiting for some scale material to make some honey colored horn scales with a bone wedge.
He will probably never shave with it but I'm sure he will enjoy the sentimental nature of me wanting to bring my great grandfather's razor back to life. This might also prompt him to dig out the 2 fatboy's he inherited so I can restore them before they are to far gone.
