    Default Trouble with chin

    Hey all,

I am noticing that I am consistently having trouble with my chin. Today, I was using a Lord blade with a 1960 SS and it kept getting "stuck" on my chin stubble. No matter which angle I took it would catch at some point. I ended up with a choppy, rough chin.

Any tips on how to approach the chin to at least get it somewhat smooth?

Make sure that you are going in the right direction while shaving (WTG first, then XTG). Have you tried a different blade?

I would suggest you try another blade if you haven't already, also make sure you are confident with your strokes.

If you are just new to wet shaving, lather maybe be part of the problem. Combined with that, getting the proper blade angle can be a challenge around the chin area. It just takes practise.
Personally, I use very short strokes around my chin and jaw line and I fine that it helps a lot.

I'm still struggling through this too. DE blades are just more aggressive this way than the disposables I was accustomed to. I'm finding that short little strokes have helped me quite a bit as well. I usually come back to this area and do a few touch ups after my final full pass also.

The chin is a tough place to shave since it is not flat there. Going with the grain can be a chore so make sure you map out your grain there. Also, take short light strokes and make sure you are not putting pressure on the razor.
