Default Another newbie with some questions

    Hello.

I recently bumped into some of the mantic59's videos and I decided to give classic shaving a go. I've been lurking on this forum for a week or so.
I've been shaving with lather for three weeks now (no name soap my father used and recently palmolive classic cream).
I'm using a cheap no name artificial fiber brush (cost about $4).

Today was my first day shaving with a DE razor.
It ended up better than I expected.
The razor used was a grandfathers old one that he apparently modified by bending the comb area to make it more aggressive (which I, of course, realized only after I begun). The blade is really ill fitting.

    Now with the questions.
After reading a bit, I decided to get myself Merkur 34C.
Now the question is: Can you recommend a place to order one from that delivers in less important parts of Europe?
I'll end up paying 20% extra on tax, so lower price would of course be better

    The other question.
I also want to buy a brush that costs up to $30.
From what I've read the favorites are Omega 49, Semogue 830 and Tweezerman.
Which one would you people recommend? (if it helps I'm mostly bowl lathering, though I'll try the other ways as well)
Again, I'd appreciate a place to order them from that will deliver to Europe.
    Any other brushes to recommend?

And please don't tell me to invest some more in the brush
    I will eventually.

Welcome to B&B! I am not in Europe so I can't help you with regards to the razor, but I can tell you Semogue brushes are wonderful. Haven't tried the 830 myself, but I would highly recommend the 1305. I bowl lather with it most of the time and it does a fantastic job. I believe it will be under your $30 limit including shipping from Portugal. Have fun and best of luck!

    Welcome to B&B.

There are a number of vendors who are in Europe. You can look at http://wiki.badgerandblade.com/index...ing_by_Country for some and http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=242 for even more.

I've got the Omega Pro brush and it's a great sub-$30 choice as well. I don't think you can go wrong with ether the Omega or Semogue.

I had the opportunity to handle the Tweezerman brush at a local store and was less than impressed with it compared to the Omega.

I recently ordered 4 Semogue brushes from The Vintage Scent:

The brushes are great! I don't know the other two brushes. Vintage Scent ships worldwide.

Perhaps a google search will give you the info you need:

Good Luck in your search and happy shaving!

welcome to B&B! I will say (even though you asked me not to...) spend more on the brush! It's cheaper in the long run! ok fine...

    Welcome to B&B!

By less important part of Europe, what do you mean? Which Country are you in?

Omega or Semogue are both very good. I don't have any experience with Semogue.

Great, now I'm considering Semogue 1305 as well (I crossed the Tweezerman off the list, though).
    I'll never decide.

By less important part of Europe I mean Croatia.
And I already checked the links ackvil, I guess I forgot to mention that

Thanks for the link Eric, it helps
