Hey Fellas,

Fixed up and modified another brush.This one was a vintage pure badger brush.Don't see them too often, most of the time there boar or nylon.So I got to work.
The handle came apart easily enough with a couple of shakes.i like it when this happens beause it is so much easier to clean and resize.Some sanding and a little polish,then it was ready for some hair.

Man, I tell ya, I'm really liking the solid tops with translucent/clear bottoms. I may have to pick myself up one. I think I've said this before in another thread. I'm just reminding myself ;)

Here ya go.Also you can see that looking trhough the bottom you can see the black rubber the old knot is set in.The clear is pretty scratched up where the two parts meet.i polish that up and placed a picture in there . you can't see it that well in the photo because of the lettering but in person it is much more clear. A couple of bloom pics and a pic of the pic I put in there.

That's great looking Spanx and a great idea of inserting the picture in the handle.

I don't think I have ever seen one with such a crystal clear handle. Very nice.

Sandwiching the photo in there is a great idea...that's a really nice looking brush and a outstanding restoration.

I knew I saw something red in there. I thought maybe it was something unintentional at first, and thought maybe it should have been painted. Now I understand.

Funny enough, I've thought it might be neat to put a marker in referb'd brushes denoting that it had been restored (think watch repairer scribing the inside of a watch case), but then realized unless you were very slick about it, it'd probably get destroyed by the next restore. On translucent bottom handles, you could put the info at the bottom like your picture and in 30 years, someone will know it's not the original knot. Guess that's a bit of anal thinking right there.

That's a good idea. Use a logo inside instead of inscribed.That way it can be identified.I put it in to hide the knot base.
