Completed Ever Ready 100

Purchased the brush on the Bay. I put the bristles into a bench vice and cut off the old bristle with a hack saw. I pulled out some of the remaining bristles with pliers and drilled out the remaining with a forstner bit. I drilled through the knot shelf and filled the handle cavity with epoxy to the height I wanted. I've done this before and I think it adds a nice heft to the brush. Once the epoxy in the handle was dry, I set the knot.

The knot is a 20mm silver tip from TGN set to about a 2" loft. I used a pastel oil crayon to fill in the trademark--I haven't used the crayons before and I hope it will last. Before and after photos:

That's a beauty. Very well done, my friend.

Please repost pictures after it blooms. As you know we love razor/brush/den . . . porn around here. Thanks for sharing and enjoy your shaves.

That crayon trick looks like it worked very well.

Nice job by the way.

It's fun isn't it ?

Thanks gentlemen.

Yes, it is fun and something that doesn't take a huge amount of expertise; just some skill and careful work.

I agree that the pastel oil crayon looks good. I'm concerned thought about whether it will dry to the point that it won't come off when the brush gets wet and wiped with at towel. We'll see...

Quite simply very, very impressive first class (A #1) (lovely cream over red color scheme work), too.

Although I may not be additted yet (and having just a 'touch' of Ever-Ready fever, I think I'm holding up rather well against this Vintage Ever-Ready Brush disorder [especially the two tone color scheme knockouts],...and other Acquisition Disorders). We all suffer (and are doomed ), to some degree from this shaving complusion, because at times..."Resistance is futile".

Thanks Christopher. I like to two tone handles too. They can look pretty nice when cleaned up and re-knotted. Good luck holding out against SBAD!
