    Default Change over a year

I began shaving with DE and like many I migrated over to cartridge razors as they became popular. About a year ago I switched back to DE shaving and have enjoyed the switch. When starting out I got a blade sampler. Naturally I wanted to try the legendary feather blades but when I did I really didn't like them. I went through a number of blades over the year, my feathers sitting in the drawer. A few months ago I broke them out again to retry and I was amazed at how much I liked them.

To me it is obvious that in the beginning my skills were developing and the feather was just too sharp for me but once I gained the skill it became a very good blade for me.

With the cheaper/duller blades I've used I could get maybe 3 shaves before changing. I can get a week out of the feathers before seeing a huge drop in performance. I think I'm becoming spoiled for the feathers.

Unfortunately I am one of those folks who can not get more than 3 shaves out of a Feather. When they go for me they go right now.
