Default Two Arkansas stones, hard and translucent

My time in California is nearing an end and will be moving back home to Sweden soon. Unfortunately I can't bring everything I bought here with me back so I have to get rid of some stuff.

I have two Arkansas stones that rarely see any use these days. It is one 6 x 2" Translucent stone and one 8 x 2" hard stone. Both are from Dan's whetstone and come in cedar boxes. The translucent stone has a small "hole" in the surface but I haven't noticed that it would have any effect on the blade.

I'm asking $45 for both which would include shipping within US (USPS flatrate box). Let me know if you have any questions.

Do you use water or oil on these stones?

I've actually been using both but you have to wash them pretty properly after oil use for the water to work. They behave a bit differently depending on what you use. I believe they are a bit faster with water than with oil, you probably get better contact with the stone.

You can find more info on them here: http://thesuperiorshave.com/Hones.html if you scroll down to the arkansas stone section.

Someone asked me about pictures of the other side of the translucent stone. I'm very happy they asked as I haven't used these in a long time and had forgotten about a defect (I feel very bad for forgetting to mention this in the first place). The other side of the translucent stone has a crack on one of the sides. It's still inside the stone but that was the reason I never used that side.

As for grit levels, I think that people usually say that you can't really put grit levels on the natural stones. The translucent stone is a very slow polisher and the hard one is also for refining the edge. I have never used synthetic hones so I'm not sure I would be able to make a comparison. I wouldn't use it to try to correct a bevel.
