    Default soap residue?

This has been bugging me since i started shaving with soap, albeit that was like 2 weeks ago. I have a bowl of Tabac and a bowl of AoS Sandalwood, after i load the brush there is obviously soap residue left on the puck/bowl. Do i wash that off when im done shaving or do i just let it dry on there?

I let it dry. I figure it makes the soap last longer that way.

I wipe the bowl, leave the soap.

You have just re-launched one of the larger religious debates around here. The truce regrarding badger vs boar has been in place almost as long as the straight vs de vs se razors, but the wording on the rinse vs leave it be truce has yet to be finalised.
Well I don't think it's quite that bad. Different people certainly have different opinions and some of them hold them quite strongly.

When I am finished shaving I rinse my brush and remove "the worst" of the lather from my shave mug / puck bowl. That's it. But if you want to rinse your soap there's no problem with that either. Careful how hard you press when you dry it off with a towel though

    edit:
I rinse the brush first because it deposits whiskers all over the soap if I don't. Eeewwww.

Here I thought it was about the new ring around the sink...

Clean the outside if it bothers you, leave the soap on the inside alone. Done.

I don't know why but i always rinse in cold water both the soap and bowl and i dry the bowl off with a towel and leave the soap be.The soap dries and next time i take off the lid the soap looks fresh and inviting.

+1 this. I get rid of the worst of the remainder, but don't get too anal about it.
