Pure and Best Difference?

Ok, so Pure Badger hair is cylindrical in structure and the same thickness at both ends. Best Badger is conical in structure which means it gets thinner towards the tip. How does this difference between Pure and Best affect the latherability, stiffness and water holding ability of both and is there much of a difference between the two if they were exactly the same size?

I do not think that Pure is a straight hair, it is for many makers the least quality and in stead of shaping the head properly in a shaping box by hand, they are machine assembled and cut to shape. So the appearance of the hair being a straight hair.
Anyway, the grading of badger hair is a strange one and nobody ever has established a standard that could be accepted by the makers.
There is a part in the wiki that shows all the grades of the different makers.
