So, MANY moons ago, my wife and I were traveling across the US, usually camping. We happened to find ourselves at Bryce Canyon one afternoon and decided to hike in for the evening. We checked in with the ranger, picked a remote site and was asked by the ranger if would be okay, as we would be about 5 miles from the nearest human, Sure we said and began the hike in.
As night fell, we put our food up on a bear pole, climbed into our small tent and fell asleep.
Sometime during the evening/early morning, we were awakened by something walking around our tent on two legs. We were absolutely terrified as all we had was a hunting knife for protection. Whatever it was walked off after a few circles of the tent. In the morning, we searched our site to find no notes or anything missing.
Upon checking back into the rangers station, we asked if there was anyone in the area during the night, the answer being no and to this day, I still get chills when talking about it
