    Default Case MOP Stainless

I just snagged this on Ebay and had to show it off. Real mother of pearl and stainless to boot!

I'll post some more pictures when it comes in.

I've not had good luck hunting locally lately, so when I got home and found this in the boxes, I felt a little better:

I actually got the cased D for a price that I've seen uncased D's going for, so happy with that and somewhat shocked. I had missed out on a few of these so I had a pile ready for the snipers, and didn't need it. The small butterscotch is a Century "Pure Badger". I'll try it tonight.

Not a clue. Somehow it doesn't seem original to the set. Perhaps for holding a styptic pencil?

Grabbed this lot for $32 shipped as a gamble. Was pretty sure the middle stone on the right was a thuringian. Got it today and after heavy lapping I'm positive it is a thuringian. Size is right on for an escher cut (7x1.5") so I wouldn't be surprised if it was that. I have a dark blue escher and this one is more grey. Used it tonight on a razor and it put a great edge on.

A tub of Acca Kappa 1869, and a bunch of Feathers. I guess this is a 'best-of-the-best' month for me.

Incredible. I had to look to see if I put a blade in it. I had to shave with it the next day just to verify how comfortable it was.

The bullet is a styptic holder, and was original to the set. I have the same set, in a red case, though mine cost a fair amount more! (albeit, the gold plating is intact on mine).

My set doesn't have the hook, though. What's that for?

    Nice score!

A very nice bakelite set and a Super Speed from Brazil.
This Brazilian Super Speed is different from the Flare Tips as the handle and TTO mechanism is the same width.

Sorry Hypo, I zero clue what the hook is for. Probably for something entirely unrelated to shaving.

The Antique Center in La Crosse, WI pays off again.

unused mug of OS, what looks like an unused Star DE, and a very stained box for a silver New Standard.

If anybody is in the area, the place still has numerous Keen Kutters, a couple of nice looking Rolls, a couple of travel tech's in their pouches, quite a few scuttles which I felt were overpriced but very nice, and some really really nice looking brush handles - one bone, another gorgeous butterscotch, one new in box ever-ready and more.
edit: oh, and 1 full retail display of PAL blades, and 2 full retail displays of Ohio blades.

Have now augmented my VDH with a 3-pack of Honeybee (tweed, mayan gold, and yuzu) and a sampler of Ollagala. The honeybee soaps are very nice - love the tweed and mayan gold scents, am working on the yuzu...not quite what I expected but at least OK. Tried the Ollagala Lime/peppercorn - wow, very nice. Now I have 3 brands and 10 scents to put into rotation! Still looking for that gillette adjustable to use with them...
