I love it! It's Mark Richmond's of CKTG own series of knives. Very thin Chinese style cleaver, made from AEB-L, the same steel they use for razor blades.
What it basically is is a huge razor blade on a stick
Yep, the Grip is a great folder. I especially like this one, the 550HG, because of the blade profile & the Spyderco-type thumb-hole instead of the usual thumbstuds.
Add to that 154CM steel that takes & holds a shaving edge, AXIS lock great handle & you got a sweet knife for less then $100. Pretty good value I'd say.

one of the peeps wrote to my inbox asking what the gold coloured thingie is
I know this is OT but in the event anyone else was wonderin'....
It's a FUMOTO Valve. it replaces your OEM sump drain plug and allows crankcase oil changes to be done by moving the lever instead of R&Ring the bung plug time and again. This is the first one I ever used and I can attest it's a great product, especially changing oil on my diesel F-250 that uses 15 quarts. I can use a regular sized oil pan and stop the flow easily when it gets near full (drain pan), then dump the pan and come back and finish draining oil
the clip lookin' thingie is a gudgeon pin circlip from a 150 2t motor...I use it on the Fumoto valve as sort of insurnace. the pocket knife made it into the pic because I ordered it along with the Fumoto valve through Amazon so the F valve would qualify for free super saver shipping. the valve was about $15, the knife $10
there was a Fumoto valve to fit my drain pan for $25 and change I could have ordered by itself (and make free shipping). Only difference between it and the one I bought, the one for $10 more has a nipple coming off it to route oil flow. I didn't need the nipple but felt a $10 pocket knife would be more worthwhile

Ny new 6/8+ ERN (thanks Matt!) on my new bout from TSS. First hone off this rock with very acceptable results.

Just because it's sharp, does not mean it's smooth.
I honed a Rolls Razor to 1 micron earlier.
I cut some lapping film to be about the same size as the hone that comes with the Rolls Razor and was able to use them pretty much as inserts, so I was able to hone using the normal honing system in the Rolls Razor case.
A quick test shave and I'm very happy with the results.

Dilucot marathon today. Switched to the bbw, and a 1k, for a bit on the Wade Wingfield which I'm really hoping shaves well as it's the oldest blade I've got my hands on so far.
I like this stone, it's a vintage glued combo. I bought a little coticule, a big coticule and then I picked up this one which is just right - I feel like Goldilocks. The combo slurry stone is also just big enough to use as a finisher or touch up stone, which is nice. I'm in the process of lapping the long side of the slurry stone so I can hone on it as I seen Jake was doing it and it looked cool.
