Things i've learned from various ADs

shaving isnt the first AD i have had, i love Guitars, motorcycles, and slr junk. I've experienced from my other hobbies or Acquisitions tho that you should def spend the money once and get something u'll enjoy for a long time vs buying tons of lower end junk. I just started reselling some of my camera equipment and turned a profit :) (the camera equipment is cheaper in states and it resells often for higher than American msrp in canada) gotten rid of all my consumer lenses and equipment and got back over 1k, now iam left with just some sweet pro lenses and a few flashes and such. I love my motorcycle but man i should of bought used (always buy a used vehicle!!!,) also if ur buying a bike, buy the right jacket, helmet and boots once, i've got 3 sets of each and they weren't cheap. With guitars definitely just purchase one acoustic and electric (although iam itching for an American strat) I've gone down from 5 guitars to just 2 and just recently picked up a used throw around classical, gone from 3 crappy amps to 2 decent tubies. I had a good period of time where i didnt spend any money and now iam into buying all this shaving stuff and its pretty darn expensive on its own as well, but i've decided to only buy what i need and only have 1 straight edge (already ahve 2....) 1 decent brush and a decent safety and THATS IT!!! (hopefully) I definitely need to stop spending and saving more.

I think I agree. Well. I don't think you should put off taking up a skill or hobby because you can't afford the best equipment. I do agree with selling off the stuff you don't use anymore though to pick up better equipment. But if you are already entrenched in a hobby, then yeah, save for the good stuff. Personally I'm going to pull the trigger on new shocks and struts for my Eclipse. I could do just new springs, but that would only work short-term as they would soon blow out my stock struts. And I'm not getting knock off ebay stuff. Since safety is an issue when it comes to suspension, I'm getting decent brand name parts.

I hold my opinion in all that you mentioned except the motorcycle gear. Since it has to do with your Limb-Intact-ness and safety, yeah, splurge on the good stuff.
