*VIDEO* Roasting Coffee on a Behmor 1600

Roasting 12 oz of beans - first crack starts then into second crack (you can clearly hear it) - roast is a full french - however when roasting to full french with the Behmor, you will get some smoke - nothing an open window and a fan cannot solve:

Finished beans (noticeable oil on the exterior of the bean):

beautiful beans, so you are a fan of french roast? it's not too dark?

Depends on the bean. This one is random blend from Burman called "Jumpstart" so with blends I prefer a full city +, vienna or full french. Note: this isn't Starbucks or Peet's "French Roast" which is just charcoal - so this still has quite a bit of flavor. Pulling shots with this i'll have my PID set at 204, where as with my single orgins it'll be between 195 - 202 depending on the orgin and roast.

Hope this helps!

I guess, i always think of french roast as very dark roasts as you describe for the commercial stuff.

I believe one of my favorites is a wet-processed bean, like sulawesi, roasted to city or maybe vienna.

maybe it's time to spring for a roaster...

thanks for the videos.
