A trilby has a smaller brim and is, in my opinion, smarter than a fedora. I got mine at Smith & Caughey's in Queen Street. I think Kirkcaldie & Staines would carry a good range of hats - I'd be a bit cautious about buying a hat online.

Take a look at Hats Direct in Australia. Huge range of Akubra fedoras, trilbies and country hats if you like that sort of thing.

I have bought several from them over the years and they are an excellent vendor. My favourite is their Federation fedora.

In my mind, Akubra is probably the best bang for the buck you can get in proper hats!

No connection other than a satisfied customer of course.

Before you buy any hat I strongly suggest you do a little research as all hats and all etailers are not created equally. Check out http://www.thefedoralounge.com/

OMG! I made the mistake of clicking on this link. A whole new set of AD's awaits. Whatever you do, don't go to the Fedora Lounge if you don't want to get sucked into another forum celebrating the "vintage" lifestyle! It's too late for me, I'm registered there!!!
