    Default TM Lewin Order Issues

Back in December I placed an order with TM Lewin for a few shirts. After waiting for over a month without a delivery (and many conversations with customer service in between), I was told the order was considered lost in transit. The package didn't have any tracking info, so there wasn't any way to determine its whereabouts. I'm told that I'll be refunded the full amount.

Has anyone else run into this sort of problem with TML? I would consider giving them another try, but I'd like to do some more homework first.

    Thanks in advance!

I have shopped with TM Lewin in the past and my only complaint is I don't get the American shipping rate (I live in Canada) when I place an order.

I've only ordered once and there were no issues with shipping. May place another order soon. Very happy with the shirts. Don't for get to order in pounds, you get the VAT discount, even with the conversion you save money.

Can someone tell me how these shirts fit? Do they run small in the neck and sleeves? I normally have to size up half a size (16.5 to 17) in the neck when ordering Charles Tyrwhitt shirts.

I've only had my shirts for a short time and can say that the collar and sleeve on mine are as i would normally wear them. They haven't had many washes. My CT shirts tightened up in sleeve and collar only after several washes. the body on the TM shirts seems pretty big, bigger than CT. I'm thinking that I'll order a slim fit TM shirt to try out. I'm by no means a slim guy.

I have had no problems with Orders I have made shipped to France.

With regard to size the neck is fine, with regard to sleeve length err of the side of caution especially if you are ordering with a Double or French cuff as you will want to "show this".

I would also recommend that you purchase their "luxury Twill" models these are Very soft but be aware that the sleeves of these do shrink a little in the wash.

+1 on the slim fit and even this might be worth getting Tailored to get the perfect fit. My Tailor does a deal where he will alter 4 Shirts for €40 so they look like their made to measure.

I've ordered many times and have never had a delivery issue.

I love the slim fit although they can sometimes be a bit on the short side. I also find I have to go up 1/2" in the neck on the slim fit shirts. I'm 6'2" 180lb.

When you wash the shirts, do you use hot, warm or cold water? I use cold, and do not use the dryer, and have never noticed any shrinking of my many CT shirts.

I dunno about Lewin, but CT "slim fit" is designed for everyone who is not actually obese. Lewin is probably about the same: they'll want to include as many potential customers as they can in their shirt sizes.

I always thought of you as shorter than that, for some reason.
Be there or be square. Only I can do both!

    Hi,

    Daniel from T.M.Lewin here.

I've been reading through this thread with interest. Some of you seem to have experienced no problems with shipping, whereas others have encountered issues.

Here's a link to our delivery rates and timescales: http://www.tmlewin.co.uk/Customer-Se...,en_GB,pg.html

But if I can offer any personal help, I'm happy to do so!

    Thanks,
    Daniel

i've had three or four orders from tm lewin with no issues. some have been quicker than others, but my guess is that any delays have always been at us customs as the package transfers from british royal mail to customs to united states postal service. as you can imagine, it's difficult or impossible to provide accurate tracking as the package moves through those three different agencies.

i have had other packages from international vendors "lost" through that transition, and like tm lewin those sellers have always done the right thing and provided a full refund. to my surprise, most or all of those packages eventually made their way to my doorstep many weeks or sometimes months later. i'd say that's just the nature of doing retail business with international vendors and be careful not to blame the vendor when the fault often lies with us customs. it's nice to know that tm lewin is taking care of their customers by providing refunds in these rare cases where packages are lost/delayed. the best way to repay them for that is not letting those rare circumstances prevent us from sending them more business.

for more time-sensitive orders, i wonder if there's a way for tm lewin to ship international orders via ups, fedex, or similar international services that might be able to provide tracking numbers from their warehouse to our doorstep (for an extra charge, i'd guess)

I have seen many of these problems with many unhappy people. What is worse however is that T.M. Lewein are trying to cheat.
They advertise special offers (5 shirts for 100 GBP) and when one wants to order the price in the shopping basket is not discounted. The call center said: we know about the problem and cant do anything.
    Unbelieveable!

I do not use Lewin's mail order service, one of their shops is 15 miles from my house so not a problem, the shirts I find to be good, the comments previously made about the twill shirts are good, the twill shirts are excellent, really comfortable but I find the necks wear quickly, but I generate stubble quite quickly.
