    Default Target

I was perusing the web for info on The Real Shaving Company when a "Shopping results" entry came up for Target. I figured that I would check it out. Well, let me say that Target has quite the selection of wet shaving paraphernalia on their site (From the homepage: Men-Shaving + Grooming-Wet Shave [yes, an actual section labeled "Wet Shave"]). Now, most of these products are not sold in their brick-and-mortar locations, but they have Col. Conk soaps, Col. Conk brushes (Pure badger, Mixed(?), and Silvertip), Weleda Shave Cream, and even brush & razor stands. I was not expecting that!

Thanks for that. I didn't realize they sold as much as they do. They have some Col. Conk soaps, too.

They've had most of this stuff for a good while. The Conk stuff is newer, though. Thanks for sharing.

I bought the wood and brass shaving set just for the stand. At that price -- less than most stands sell for -- you can set aside the cartridge razor and brush and still come out ahead. The quality is good, and it looks great. It matches my Merkur HD with amboyna wood handle just fine. I removed the bowl and unscrewed the rod holding it. That left a small hole in the base, but I just turned it to the back where it can't be seen.

How deep is the bowl? Deep enough to actually use for bowl lathering?

Otherwise, the Target selection is better than other big-box chains, but still nothing spectacular. Given their shipping prices, I'd probably only ever use them if I had a Target gift card and nothing else to use it on. Now if they had these products locally or free ship-to-store (ala Wal-Mart), especially the Conk soaps, brushes, and $30 shaving sets, then they might be on to something.

If you have a Harris Teeter near you, they sell The Real Shaving Company products in the B&M. I love their hot towel cream.

So, I noticed a product on the Target site.

    Titan 6-blade All-in-One razor 3 pack.

Real shaving cream inside the handle!

Anyone ever heard of this beast?

Wow... I mean... wow... for some odd reason I see college dorm kids with community bathrooms being the target audience here.

It looks like the razor is completely disposable. So I guess you throw out the whole thing even if you haven't used up the shaving cream.

Seems wasteful and silly. Sign of the times, I guess.

I wish Target would pay as much attention to their stores as they do their website. The shaving section of my local Target is pathetic and the store has plenty of underused space so there is no excuse for it.

I've always seen those razor/brush/stand sets on their site, but did not know they had soaps and brushes too!

    Thanks for the heads up.

Geesh, $32.99 for 8 PooGlide cartridges. Insane.

No. The day I received the set is the day I tossed the bowl.
