So I found one of these and restored it. Runs strong and makes the neighbors jealous.

Looks nice, so tell us about it!
Phil
1965 Simplicity Landlord. A friend at work asked me to clean out his Dads small engine shed of 50 years and haul it away, this jewel was the one his Pop used to drive around to meet people in the neighborhood. After I restored it I felt bad and payed him some money but it doesn't seem to bother him, they kept the Redbelly Ford Tractor.
Rebuilding the cast iron 10 HP cost a small fortune but it runs strong and a joy to hear idling. Has a hydraulic lift I use for the snow blade and a good solid deck, the thing mows like nobodies business! I cut a 4 acre field with grass a foot high and it just blows it out like a larger tractor. Then when I finish mow my front yard looks like a golfcourse.
If you see an old Simplicity garden tractor( or its sister line, Allis Chalmers B-10), take a second look, parts are available and they are worth fixing.
Do you have any pictures of the rebuild?
nice work.
okay - I'm jealous too.
Nice![]()
Sweet Ride!
Well done.![]()
Beautiful!
I have a tiny 1/4 acre, but if I had that baby, I'd take 3 minutes to mow the grass and then spend the next hour sitting on it and drinking a couple of beers and looking cool.

One, two! One, two! and through and through...The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
My Vorpal Razors
Do I see an axle at the front for crank-operated startup?
Nope, that's a PTO.
You can see the Starter/Generator on the side facing the camera toward the top. It's the big black cylindrical thing.
Very nice looking tractor, man. Great work. I really like the Ag tires on there.
I have a 1971 Landlord and it's just a great tractor. Not as shiny as yours but it's a workhorse and runs and mows like a champ. I want to put Ag tires on the back one of these days. My turf tires aren't the best thing for hills.
Is this your homework, Larry?
Thanks for all the kind words! This was a fun, easy restore that was a little expensive but is paying dividends.
Here are a couple of restoration photos. The bored, balanced Briggs 10 HP (now a 14hp) with a new Nelson can muffler and the finished unit with blade and headlights.
By the way MHV, that front shaft with a pulley can power a grain auger, a snowblower, a conveyor belt, a generator for portable power, you name it. Simplicity offered every attachment under the sun for these things, including the most rare accessory, a forklift!
Walter, those Ag tires won't slip, which can be good or bad. For rough terrain mowing you can get into trouble cause the thing will keep pulling no matter what. For yard mowing they really don't tear the turf up like some folks think.
Thanks for the explanations... but, pardon my ignorance, what's a PTO?
Really cool setup. Makes me pine for a lawn.
Wow. You did a great job on that. I have a 72 Wheel Horse that my brother gave me. It means more when it belonged to a family member. I have no pics of mine, but will try and dig it out and take some shots to post. The shots that I have posted are a friend's. He Restored all of them too.
Well done Pungo!
sweet restoration! have you tried it with cella?
