Handle polishing question / advice needed

Whats the best product / polishing compound to use on a handle (black resin) ? Where can I purchase the product, oh and I have to do the polishing with the knot set so any suggestions? It had some pretty nasty scratches that I sanded out with very fine grit paper.I am planning to use a dremel with a polishing wheel. Any help would be appreciated.

I would do it by hand with an automotive rubbing compound,with a dremel you stand a good chance of burning the plastic

on plastic most any will work,for final finishing I like Maquires 205.
Buffers work great,but you need a real buffer with a large wheel,dremels are useless for polishing plastic.Some things in life are best done by hand.

Don't use a Dremel. Trust me.

Sand the handle up to 1500 grit, then use Brasso on a rag. It will polish up a treat.

I agree on the dremel - works great on metal but it will heat up and deform the plastic before you know what happened. I use sandpaper - 1500 then auto rubbing compound then auto polishing compound them Maas polish then Flitz polish. All of those done by hand. It might be overkill but I end up with a nice finish.

4-8 inch wheel on a motor. Use buffing compound from the hardware store. For soft plastic use the high gloss buffing stick made for polishing soft plastic or metal. For Catalin start with coarser grit compound to remove heavy scratches and work up to rouge or the green polish. Works great, the green sticks will shine up the softer black ferrules nicely. Use spiral stitched wheels for the coarser stuff and finish with an unsewn flannel wheel for the green stick.

Be careful, don't let the wheel grab the handle out of your hand.
