Check out this review (plus pics) of the Yuma razor: http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthr...?ltr=Y&t=69707

Pretty much what one would expect for a cheap razor.

Default Yuma - arrived yesterday - first shave

My Yuma arrived yesterday. The razor looked like it came out of a grocery store 25 cent toy dispensor. One could easily mistaken it for a cheap plastic toy. The Yuma felt as light as a BiC disposable.

With a generic Personna blade, the shave was suprisingly mild comparable to a Gillette Tech. It was not as smooth as the Tech--I believe it was due to the rough finish of the safety bar.

I have some sandpaper from a straight razor restore. I used it see if I can improve the rough appearance. I was able to get dramatic improvements in a relatively short amount of time.

Picture coming. --> I'll post it in the Safety Razor forum

I purchased one a few months ago and it was in the bin about two minutes after I opened the package.
The razor was filthy and the cheap metal was so pliable, one of the safety bars snapped of with a mild push.
If it was the only razor available, I'd grow a beard.

Yuma sounds very interesting. I think I am going to go get myself a yuma and other stuff from Eminonu (Istanbul) this weekend.
I've heard that there are many barbershop suppliers there. I bet most of the stuff will be cheap both in terms of quality and price but anyway.
Maybe I can share some photos as well ;)

I have one and being a 3 piece razor and easy to clean I use this one to shave my pubic area. Under the shower I rub it in with an Arko stick and shave away very very carefully. Smooth as can be actually and I tried a lot of methods before that, the worst experience ever was getting some skin of my scrotum stuck between the tooth of my clippers, and there was a comb on that clippers even....
No problem with the yuma but you need a smooth and slippery soap like Arko stick so it doesn't drag, I also use the Arko yagli krem after I'm done since a normal after shave (splash) doesn't seem like a good idea to use there. I like the Yuma for that, somehow it doesn't feel right to use my "face" razor for this purpose.

They are 100% shite in quality, no arguing about that, you'll see when yours arrives, it is supposed to be aggressive beyond anything, but personally I found it to be mild.

I PIFfed a Yuma to a fellow member, so his (4-5 year old?) son could use it (sans blade) to join him during shave time! So, they're not worthless!

I find the asthetics of the Yuma to be terrible, but I get absolutely fantastic shaves from mine. Paired with an Astra SP, it's a unbeatable shave for me. Granted, it won't win any beauty contests, and yes, it looks as if it came out of a gumball machine, but I can't believe the smooth and close shave it gives.
