I just purchased a pre-2005 Shavemac from Joel, and holy crap is this thing ever huge! For comparison's sake, I've included a Simpsons Wee Scot on the left & the B&B Limited Edition 2008 in the middle. That's obviously the Shavemac on the right. Check it out:
I showed the Shavemac to my 8 y/o son this morning. "Wow ... that's bigger than my nose!" he said. "Are you kidding? It's bigger than your head!" I said.
Haven't used it yet, but unlike so many larger brushes this badger hair feels springy & stiff, as opposed to floppy & soft. It's incredibly dense; here's a top view of the same shot:
