    Default Second blade...better shave!

I started with Derby Extra which I liked. I got a pretty good shave without any nicks, cuts or irritation. I noticed a little bit of what felt like skipping on the first pass but they got better. I think a lot of it had to do with technique so I will be interested to revisit these.

So today it was time to change blades and decided to try Red Personna blades. These felt like they were a big improvement for me. They seem a little more aggressive but still gave me a close and comfortable shave. I am excited to use these a few more times because I noticed every shave with the Derby Extra's got better the more I got familiar with them.

You're doing yourself a great service by proceeding slowly through different blades. The fewer variables you change lets you be more discriminating about the things you do change -- blades in this case. If your technique is still evolving, it's even more important to hold the variables to a minimum.

When I first tried the red IP, it was a revelation. I've since moved on to others that I like better, but the IP is an undeniable standby. They're very consistent and very forgiving while being a great performance.

    Glad you like them.
