You're doing yourself a great service by proceeding slowly through different blades. The fewer variables you change lets you be more discriminating about the things you do change -- blades in this case. If your technique is still evolving, it's even more important to hold the variables to a minimum.
When I first tried the red IP, it was a revelation. I've since moved on to others that I like better, but the IP is an undeniable standby. They're very consistent and very forgiving while being a great performance.
