    Question Blade disposal while travelling?

How do you handle disposing of used blades while traveling?

I don't like Wilkinson blades; they have the disposal slot in the back, but they hit my face like a cheese grater. I saw one suggestion on the forum to carry a feather-type blade safe, but that seems to me kind of big for travel. I packed an altoids can on vacation 2 years ago for this but it rusted and began to flop open, not good. And hotels never seem to have slots in their bathrooms for blade disposal.

So what do you gents suggest?

    -Scott.

Many older hotels still have blade slots in the vanity; I use them if I can. Otherwise, I return the used blade back to its original wrapper(s) and wrap that up in a good wad of TP and toss in the garbage can. I also tend to leave my DE in plain view (head down in the water glass) so that housekeeping might get a clue as to a possible blade in the trash.

I keep the wrapper the blade comes in and when I dispose of it I put it back in the wrapper, put tissue around it, and put it in the waste paper can. I also keep my DE in plain sight.

An Altoids mini container is small and very convenient. Unless you have had it for 5 years and keep it constantly damp, it won't rust (I've had two of these in my den for almost two years and they are both fine).

So, Altoids mini is my vote.

I put a strip of tape over the edges and toss in the garbage.

+1 on original wrapper and thick wrap with TP!
A combination of clean elegance with a vague forboding of dread is attractive.

Just use a coke can. The mouth is wide enough to get the blade in and it wont fall out.

I wrap them in a few tissues before disposing. The tape idea sounds better though.

I just put the blade back into the dispenser that it came out of. Even the plastic ones without a used blade slot can be opened up to reveal a space for used blades.

I just came back from the Dominican republic. I used a beer can, supplied by the hotel.

One of these would keep them safe while showing what's inside. Compact too.

+1 Same here. I also keep a rubber band around the blade dispenser to keep the blades from accidentally coming out in my toiletry bag.

+3 wrap it in original packaging and put TP around it. Looks like a common way to dispose of the DE blade.

Many public bathrooms have Sharps disposal containers for needles and such. You could drop it off in there.

Just use Feathers. They have a used blade slot in the dispenser.

    This is what I use for a Blade Bank at home, traveling and it's small enough to fit in your kit - $1 each;

As long as no one runs into you getting off the elevator.
