Default January Happenings with Mama Bear's

I have a new line of bath soaps available. I have the first double batch done and I am really happy with them. Really, Really Happy!!

So introducing my new swirled bath soaps is this one that is un named.. I am just calling it blue, purple and mauve because those are the colors I used to make it, along with gold mica flakes and both cocoa butter and clear bath soaps.. I fragranced them strongly (of course) with Butterscotch Vanilla fragrance oil and I could take a bite out of these they smell so good.. I marked these down 10% for January. I will probably be making more of these this month and they will all be 10% off.

...........and yes, Marty, I am going to send you one tomorrow.. maybe you can give me a review??

New Shaving Soaps are also available, Lilac and Patchouli, Bergamot and Lime, Grapefruit Ice Mentholated.. Rose Ice Mentholated and Autumn Lodge. I will be discontinuing the Beau Brummel as soon as I am out of stock.

I have a LOT of short pours available and want to get those to people very shortly, I have a doctors appt tomorrow to see about having surgery on my knee.. so before committing to that, I want to wait and see if I am going to be mobile enough to do it. If not right away we will do it when I can get about.

I am also thinking about offering custom fragranced colognes to match my shaving soaps, kind of the same thing I do with the aftershave, but haven't figured out how I want to go about that yet, the labels are going to be an issue.

Lastly.. I am going to be introducing hand and body lotions soon.. i am not sure in which fragrances, but the men's cologne favorites for sure..

    Happy New Year to everyone!!!!

Thanks, Mama. I'm enjoying the tub and samples that I ordered from you before Christmas. SWMBO is pleased with Sandalwood/Vanilla.

I took this picture a few months back over Keyes Lake here in Northern WI... I think I am going to try and do a swirled soap that looks like this.. I have issued myself a challenge now.. and in public... so I am nervous as hell... Wonder what scent this should be..any suggestions?

No name needed on a soap that pretty. Good luck with your knee.

Very interested in hearing about your lotion making. Have yet to find an all natural peppermint scented lotion that doesn't contain skin drying alcohol's or propylene glycol in the ingredients.

Used to use Nature's Secret peppermint foot lotion after getting out of the shower. but they discontinued it. had more of a "peppermint bismuth" type smell, sorta reminded me of pepto bismol and I loved it. Haven't ever found anything close to replace it that wasn't loaded with different alcohols.

    Gentlemen,

If you like rose scents, I highly recommend Rose Ice. It is one of my favorite scents right now. Very close to a bouquet of roses. It reminds me of going into a florist shop and ordering a dozen roses for my wife on Valentines Day.

That's a pretty cool idea, to make a soap that looks like that sunset.

I did something KINDA similar. Over the summer I took my family to the Outer Banks of North Carolina. There, my wife and I found some really beautiful shells that were white with tan and purple stripes. I went to a paint-it-yourself ceramic store with some of the shells in my pocket and made some coasters that looked like the shells. They turned out pretty well.

Thanks Kingfisher.. do I see the makings of an artisan blooming?? Don't you get a HUGE sense of satisfaction when you do something like that.. instant gratification, memories and talent all rolled up in one.. it's an awesome feeling for me.. however, I am not betting the farm on this soap coming out.. gonna give it a shot tonight tho...

    Dustin.. thank you!!

The knee thing turned out to be alright. I have something called a Bakers Cyst behind my left knee and it is about the size of a fist. The doctor drained it and shot me up full of steriods.. and I have some excellent pain pills.. so don't be surprised if you don't hear from me during the wee hours as is usual for me..

I guess they often come back tho.. it is an issue of a previous injury... in my case back in high school.. that will probably lead to a complete knee replacement, but I think I am good for 20 years anyway.. I can make a LOT of soap in 20 years.. wink

So I am moving on to thoughts of what to do with all these short pours.. I am going to make a list in a few days.. and probably run it by you guys. I would love to see the newbies get some free items... any ideas are welcome.

    zzzzzzzz and hugs!!!!!!!!

    Sue,

Great news on the knee. I am thinking I need to go have mine looked at. It has given out on me a few times and I barely save myself from hitting the ground, it also makes an 80yr old lady sound when I walk stairs. Hopefully it is from the 10 pounds of stress eating and lack of exercise. I am afraid not though.
After having both shoulders fixed already I think it may be just the way it is for me. My brother is just a few years older than me and has had both shoulders and both knees done.

I'm glad that your knee turned out all right. Having a baseball sized cyst drained must have been a huge relief.

    It was a huge relief!!!!!

On a side note, there were some checkout issues with my website for the past week that were due to a upgrade that my webmaster did not apply to my site.. but it is not applied and seems to be working just fine..
