My best experience w/pure Virginias was with Union Square. Ended up purchasing a few tins and found they were much better after aging at least 6 months.

It was a completely different (and much better smoke) after waiting a while.

It is one of my go-to tobaccos.

Still waiting for my Jack Knife Plug, it was originally going to be delivered yesterday but inclement weather is delaying delivery.

My order just got delivered this afternoon, and of course I had to open a tin and check this stuff out.

It smells fantastic. I can't wait to slice some of this up and try it.

Well hurry the hell up! You've had it for almost 30 minutes already and I don't think I can wait any longer!

You have acquired a level of patience beyond mine!!

We'll be wanting a full review, down to plug density and ease of preparation.

I am smoking my first bowl of this in my 999 spigot. There was a smaller 1/2 inch square in my tin along with the main plug that I cut up with a razor blade for this bowl.

My first impression of this tobacco is that Hal O' the Wynd and Union Square had a bipolar love child. It starts out very bright, but then you taste the dark earthy flavors, and then every puff is a subtle mix of the two except once every couple puffs you get a really spicy flavor and then it changes again. I am glad that I was able to snag multiple tins because I am going to be smoking a lot of Jackknife.

Greg, I don't know how you did this, but you have a winner. Well done sir.

    Thanks for posting!!

What were your impressions of strength and body? I get a malty sweetness that sort of wafts in and out in many dark plugs, Is this similar?

It is an above average strength tobacco for sure, and there was some sweetness that would come and go alternating with the some pretty spicy flavors, but I think that was from the lighter virginas.

    That was the intent.

Finally the JackKnife plug has arrived, will have to wait to try it out. Kids with basketball practices tonight and tommorow, maybe I can fit some in in the afternoon.

A local B&M had some jacknife plug in stock, so I grabbed it. It was on the expensive side, but it went to help out a local B&M. I usually buy my bulks there, as it isn't much more expensive than I can get online. I think I may order another tin or 2 online.
