Any one using a Merkur 12C?

Just ordered a Merkur 12C because I really like the look of it. Kinda classic looking. I had been using straights for about the last six months but i just can't commit to it due to current family commitments so recently been using my Merkur Futur but wanted a DE with a more traditional look.

So if you use one, any obs you can share?

Merkur 12C HD Long Handle Barber Pole Safety Razor, Open Tooth got one about a month ago and love it ever since its very aggressive but gives you a very close shave one of my best DE that i have you made a very good choice

I have a 15C which has the same head, but shorter and lighter handle. Great shaver.

Follow up-

Had a few shaves with the Merkur 12C now. At first I was a little disappointed. Its not aggressive at all IMO. I now have taken to it. I load a feather and get a nice DFS shave with it. Its not as close as say a straight razor or a Merkur Futur but doesn't do any damage either whilst still providing a good shave.

I have the long handle version. It's a fine razor. I switched to EJ and will BST my 25C if I ever get my post count high enough.

I do believe it's the same head as the 11C, which is what I have. The latter is a two-piece, with the rotating stud attached to the handle.

My take - it's OK but I like my vintage Gillette old-types (102 model) better. I'm beginning to suspect the materials and manufacturing might have been rather better too.

If you like a heavier razor overall or a longer handle, the Merkur version would please you. I've come to prefer the Gillette design and don't find benefit in more weight or length. Also, the oldies (when in good condition) seem a bit more agile, less bulky or awkward...hard to put this in words.
