    Default Face Lathering, Im Sold!

Tryed face lathering for the first time today. It was awesome! I havent been getting great results from my new Cella in the bowl, but on my face was a whole new ballgame. Ive also been having trouble with everything drying out during the shave. Not today though! It was one of the best shaves in a long time.
And to top it off I recieved some aftershave in the mail just as I was finishing my shave!
Just thought Id share, cause no one around my house cares!
    Thanks!!

Strange how most people aren't interested in shaving, isn't it?

I've been face lathering almost from the beginning. Tried bowl lathering just to prove to myself that I could, then went back to face lathering. Easier, and feels great. Welcome to the club.

Thanks! I kind of wanted to prove I could do it to thats a good point. Do you guys use creams to? If so what do you do different?

It's the only way I lather. Dip my brush in boiling water soap it up real good then on to my face while it is still hot.

I started bowl lathering, but tried face lathering soap and that was good to go. Got advice here on how to face lather creams and I've never looked back. Looking for a place to put my old lather bowl.

Thank goodness I only have a couple of floppy bowl lathering type brushes.

Missed this. The only real trick is putting the cream in the brush. I started out putting on the brush like toothpaste on a tooth brush . What works is to bury the cream about half way in or so.

Welcome to the face lathering fold.

As a recent to convert to face lathering I can empathize with the feeling you had.

I use both soap and creams. As one poster said, the creams work best if you bury the cream in the middle of the brush.

I used to be an exclusive face latherer, but have recently been bowl lathering as well. They both work.

I have always used the face lathering technique. While I use soap and a dish these days, I started out shaving using a cream. I pushed out a bit of the cream onto my chin and worked from there ... but that is long ago and far away.

I face lather the majority of the time, too. And I agree that it's easy and feels great. I'd say 90% of the time I face lather with a Simpson Chubby1 and whatever soap or cream I pick for the day.

Sometimes just for the luxury, I'll build a big bowl of extra thick, hot lather with my extra large silvertip Penworks brush. Mostly it's just because I love that giant brush so much. I feel like it needs to be used once in awhile. It's a nice change of pace to paint on huge gobs of thick lather rather than build the lather on my skin.

Face lathering rocks! After 3 bowls dropped on the floor in the bathroom, I moved toward it!

I think bowl lathering is what rocked if you dropped three of them.

What those of you who would prefer to bowl lather need to do is to get one of those rubber pads you put on car dashboards to keep a cell phone in place. It really gives your bowl needed traction.

It's funny you mentioned Cella and face lathering. I've been bowl lathering for around 3 months and was very happy with it. Got some Cella I ordered and tried it in the bowl and was happy with the lather-but not with it's "glide". Tried face lathering Cellla and it was a whole new ballgame.

Bottom line-some products do wonderfull with one method but not so well with the other. Had I not tried face lathering Cella, I would have given it up and missed out on one superb product.

I guess so... not having a bowl to clean in the end is another plus!
