Default NY Giants ; Don't Try to Stop Me!!

After the Giants imploded against the Eagles yesterday, my family noticed that I was in even more of a catatonic state than usual. When they figured out what happened, they removed all sharp objects, shoelaces and belts from within my reach and locked me in a lower floor room, from which jumping out the window will result in nothing worse than a sprained ankle. Are there any other Giants fans out there who are also ready for the loony bin? :(

I'd say sign me up, but was it really unexpected? ESPN has been showing a series of Giant meltdowns against the Eagles.

And let's not forget the 1997 playoff game against the Vikings. The commentators were ripping Dennis Green's clock management skills only to have the Vikings come back and win the game. For those of you who were able to erase the game from your memory, the Randall Cunningham led Vikings scored 10 points in the final 90 seconds to beat the Giants.

Fortunately, I was unable to watch the game. It might have put me over the edge. What the heck happened to the D? And I know the loss wasn't Dodge's fault but...that should have been the final straw.

After our season, all I can say to you Giants fans is to jump in. The water is fine!

I've been a fan since the early '80s when a 50% record would have been something to applaud. I'm not surprised by yesterday's self-destruction. Saddened, yes ; Surprised, no.

I hope the Giants draft a punter in an early round of the draft and bring in 10-15 free agent punters for a look-see (I am also available; willing to come to camp at my own expense :) ).
Watch this: The Giants will put together what, on paper, will look like a world beater team for 2011... then there will be a lockout and the season will be canceled.

I can relate. The Packers faithful went through a season similar to this a few years ago... during Favre's last seasons. The Pack was destined for greatness that season when lo and behold, McNabb and the Eagles won a playoff game in Lambeau by converting on a Fourth and 32. Yes, I said fourth and 32 YARDS. The underdog Eagles went on to win and finished the Pack went home too early. There were other daggers in the heart during that season, if memory serves.

Maybe we can start a Clubhouse subforum: A support group for fans who have suffered heart-rending late-game, late-season losses, whose team has stolen defeat from the jaws of victory. It can cover any sport, any team or individual (Tennis anyone?) sports, college (What was the team that returned a kick by lateraling through the other school's marching band while they stood in the end zone, waiting to celebrate?) or pro (too many to mention, but the 1951 Dodgers still stick in my craw, even though I was too young to remember. One side note, the brother of a friend of mine is an usher at the church that Ralph Branca still attends every Sunday. I have instructed my friend's brother to quietly sidle up to Branca during the mass and ask him what the hell he was thinking when he threw that pitch to Bobby Thomson; no disrespect intended, not to the church, that is.). Sorry for the wordy-ness; I got carried away. I'm sure we all have our memories that, no matter how much we try, we cannot seem to forget.

It's not so much that they lost, it's the way they lost. Any team competing against Vick should not honestly expect to win. That said, when it was 24-3, you'd be foolish not to get your hopes up.

I saw both "The Fumble" and the debacle against the 49-ers, but this was the worst of the lot. Unbelieveable. Why didn't he just punt it out of bounds?

I was so hyped up. My friends hate Eli Manning for some reason - I'm a die hard Giants fan. After that 4th quarter ..... well I hated everyone.

Buchs lost as well so still a chance for a wild card.

Lots of ex Giants fans in Boston, we welcome more. I feel bad for Coughlin, he is going to blow an artery.

Redskins fan, but I live in NYC now, so I follow the Giants. Can't stand the Jets, but the Giants are all right.

People need to stop blaming the punter. The dude made a mistake, but his mistake is infinitesimal compared to that of the Giant's defense, which completely disappeared. Strahan said it best after the game: they got scared and just stood around in awe of Vick. He ripped them apart. Manning played great, so you can't blame him.

I think Coughlin's gone. This team falls apart too easily and that comes back to the coach. He's done well, but he's not done well enough. This team has one of the best rosters in the NFL and has for years. They should be better than this.

I'm already there my friend. Worst part is, in Fantasy Football the guy I had to play had Vick. I was doing great until.....BOOM!

I can't even rag on Giants fans at this point, nothing I could say would compare the world of hurt you're piling on yourselves.

I had the misfortune to be at the game at which The Fumble occurred, but DID NOT see it. (No, I was not in the bathroom.) My buddy and I were already in the parking lot, congratulating ourselves on expecting to beat the traffic, when, if I recall correctly, we were stopped dead in our tracks by what must have sounded like the death throes of a mortally wounded brontosaurus. It was a collective groan from the crowd. We looked at each other and knew something bad had happened, and when we got to the car, we heard the details. It still hurts... badly.

You're not kidding. There's plenty of blame to go around.
