    Default Happy Holidays PIF

Here are 2 different open comb Old type razors that have suffered the common fate of old Gillette razors with hollow handles -- the hairline split. Not affecting the shave and relatively stable, this split means the razors are not perfect. And not perfect means they are being shared for those of you who have not tried an open comb and want to try one before the end of 2010.

Please post your interest here, and I will randomly select 2 winners by December 29 so I can get them in the mail before the year end.

Anywhere in the world -- the only stipulation is that you don't own an open comb razor and have fewer than 200 posts in the B&B forum.

First one here, 2nd posted right after.

Hey before I toss my hat in the ring, I got a dumb question: what are the shaving benefits of an open comb razor?

The shaving benefits of an open comb -- or some might say the shaving detriments -- are pretty well discussed on this forum and others. I personally enjoy open combs but as they say, YMMV... So try if you want. No giarantees you'll like it -- but that's the whole point of a PIF. Try it and pass it along...

    Default 3rd OC holiday PIF

Here's the 3rd and last of the end of the year -- holiday OC PIFs from my humble holdings. This classy razor has no splits -- and looks to be a copy of the famed Gillette 2-ring classic. It's in excellent shape.

Not a Gillette and no handle cracks -- wonder what that means.

Post your interest and I'll select one winner for each of these 3 razors.

I have never used an open comb before and, of course, I would really appreciate trying one. So, count me in!

Count me in please. I am just getting into the world of DE shaving, and would love to have an open-comb to add to the collection. I have heard the talk of the different shave. Thanks for your generosity.

i find them wonderful when going from an extended period of skipped shaves... i find safety bar razors tend to clog up and want to skip a bit when shaving some significant beard growth while an open comb just mows right through it
    I shave with a chainsaw.

I've always been afraid to go open comb after trying the Futur on an aggressive setting. That said, perhaps it's different for me.

    Thanks for including me.
