I've asked some off the wall questions and he's always answered the "what if's."

There are a lot of nice looking rocks here. Does one use these lets say, after a 12K synthetic? What would be the average price for a good jnat finisher?

I haven't used a synthetic as a finisher in years.

You can find something pretty reasonable actually. BST has popped up with some stones quite often. My first jnat was a Kiita for about $120 but it's a 4 x 4 so it is small but it got the job done.

I have a 7 inch long Nakayama Kiita that is two inches thick that I bought for about 150.00$ a long with a tomonagura stone, very hard Kiita and a nice stone.

Maxim has Oozuku stones on hand (or he did a few days ago lol), and he was asking about 70 Euro for them. They are thin but are very hard and are good stones.

I should have quoted your post in my previous post and merged everything, sorry mods!

You can definitely use a Jnat as a finishing stone after a synthetic 12K like a Naniwa super stone 12K (this stone leaves a harsh edge imo) and things will improve. I never use synthetics anymore really, I usually use a coticule for early work and then finish on a japanese stone or an Escher or just leave the coticule edge.

I do use my finishers after 12k SS a lot.
Works really well , about 30 laps and that is all it takes.
Prices vary by quality and size. The best stones in full size can get pretty pricey.

I guess I'll have to get one now since everyone else is doing it. I don't want to be left out. I thought you told me you were "done" buying stones.

I would never make such a ridiculous statement, lol. Maybe for that week.

Jnats are great. Edges remind me of a synth without the crispy edge keenness wise.

Nice - is that an Ozuku? Whatever it is - it's beautiful.
