I had to leave the tin out for a little over 24 hours until it felt dry enough to smoke. I think the issue was packing the bowl too tight, I eventually got it to smoke well by using my Czech tool to loosen up the bowl a bit. I think rubbing the flake out fully will help too.

I have joined the briar club. I just had some Blue Mountain in, what appears to be, a no-name billiard (bottom in the pic). It is stamped "London Briar", but it appears that is pretty generic. It was a real nice smoke- good draw, zero relights.

PS- would the one on top be an apple? The bowl is a bit squatter and is more round-ish

What did you think of the pirate kake? It is on my short list to try.

So do I, but the wife doesn't like the smell so much- guess it will be an at work or in garage smoke. There is a bright point, though- she LOVES Squadron Leader, so I can smoke that indoors.

Now that's what I call luck, very nice, I bought a near mint 1983? Dunhill Chestnut/Cumberland Oom paul today (my first Dunhill) and let's just say I didn't get it for $2, it was one of those "gotta have it" moments

Brand new pipe and a tobacco I haven't tried yet, life is good!

Erinmore Flake in my EWA Volcano "nose warmer" - aka small pipe.

Great smoke but I have to really slow down with this little guy as it gets much warmer much faster than a normal size pipe.
