Postage to the US now taking even longer

I was posting a couple of straights to the US yesterday when I was advised that due to heightened terrorist screening, packages to the US will now take a minimum of 3 additional days over and above the standard 10-20 day postal time from Australia.

I assume that it's the same for all countries mailing items to the US.

Just something to be aware of.

That's the government getting involved in things. Seems that whenever they do it just messes things up even more.

yeah it's all packages to the US and Canada. You're not allowed to ship printer cartridges or toner either by air.

Because they made a bomb out of an Ink Cartridge and tried to mail it.

So eventually everything will be transported by ship. The term shipping will once again mean something. Great, my wife had something sent by boat from Asia and it took a couple of months. judging by the box, it had sat on the dock for a few weeks.

I just had shipments past couple of weeks from france and ireland, both took less than 5 business days to the US.
