What is Gatherings and Get-Togethers....

For the veterans of this forum you all know we frequently have threads started by members who are interested in having unofficial B&B related get togethers or "meet-ups" as they are frequently called.

Because of the increase in popularity for this sort of thing we give you the "Gatherings and Get-Togethers" sub-forum. This will serve as a place to post feeler threads to gauge interest in a particular location or simply to post your invites to planned get-togethers. This forum can be used for discussion of all aspects of your planned meet ups.

As you are considering a gathering please keep in mind both location and security. Since this is a public forum you may not want to post exact specifics in your thread. However, you could start a thread (just an example) as:

July 2011 Aomori, Japan

Then in the thread you could work out details and particulars and build/gauge interest as needed. For any aspects of planning that you feel could be of concern you could simply switch to PM's between interested parties.

We also ask that this forum be limited to B&B related gatherings. While we respect other forums we ask that gatherings sponsored or originating at other forums, remain at those forums.

We hope this new forum will serve as a place to centralize posts and interest in gatherings, meet ups and all get togethers.

Gentlemen,

this Forum is for the purpose of discussing and organizing peer-to-peer get togethers. Occasionally, the details for a meeting are not finalised until page 4 of a discussion thread and consequently, it is easy for members who may have been wishing to attend a meetup to miss out because they weren't aware that things had become concrete.

Should you be involved in organizing such an event, please feel free to drop a note to a member of the Mod Team and we can edit the thread title to mention time and place of upcoming meetups so that it is easier for the rest of the membership to keep up to speed.
