    Default 28mm Big-boy Restore

I've been looking for an old handle that could fit a 28mm knot. I got this brush on eBay. When it arrived, I found the opening was only 26mm. But after some vigorous sanding, I was able to fit the knot. It is a 28mm Silvertip from TGN, and I can't wait to use it. I'll post a picture of the brush in bloom once I use it after the epoxy cures. Now I just need to find a handle for a 30mm knot.

Here's the brush prior to restoration.

That is a beautiful brush and a very nice restoration. I like the dark red socket.

    Best regards,

Nice restore, and hey, are your soaps trying to sneak out the back door?

I had to let the epoxy cure overnight, so I haven't tried it yet. I'm planning on taking it for a spin tonight.

I haven't measured the loft. I'll try to remember to do that before I use it.

    The loft is 55mm.

I lathered it up a couple of times to get out the funk. It made a crazy amount of lather. My arm got a little tired lifting it.

Looks great! I have a 28 mm knot sitting around here. You've inspired me to search out a handle for it!

Good luck. It wasn't easy finding a handle with an opening this big.
