4 shaves and 4 nasty cuts

And not 1 on my face

My last 4 shaves have been lovely right up until the cut!

The little finger of my left hand every time aaaagh! ow! bastaaaad!

It only happens when I shave the left side of my face. I pull the skin tight with the thumb of my left hand and then with right hand I shave the left side of my face. Trouble is my right arm obscures my view of the mirror and bam! I bounce the damn blade off the end knuckle of my little finger.

You'd have thought I would have learnt after the first time but no, 4 times on the trot.

It's starting to get sore now

My girlfriend thinks it is hilarious. She came in yesterday and found me in the kitchen putting ANOTHER plaster on and saw the 30 something spots of blood all over the kitchen floor. There was a lot of blood for a small cut.

"I hope you're gonna clean that up" she says and walks off into the garden laughing.

Women, you can't live with 'em, you can't live, well actually you can't live with 'em full stop.

Mat,

It may be in your finger's best interest to stop stretching the skin for a while.

Or, you could put the plaster on before you shave, and be ready for the inevitable?

Funny- the same happens to me- however it is the middle finger-left hand- left side of the face. So far so good- but it does happen when I get a little too secure in my shaving- Placing the plaster on before you shave may be thye best advice for now-

Hmmm. I don't think I block my view with my am at any point during shaving. When I shave the left side of my face I put fingers from my left hand in my left sideburn and pull slightly upwards. then my right arm can come up from underneath my chin to shave downward, giving me a clear view.

Sorry, I haven't researched this; but does this confirm my suspicion that straight razor shaving relies heavily on your being able to see what you're doing? My vision is not so good, and my DE shaving relies heavily on feel. I fear that a straight razor could lop off my earlobe while I'm feeling around with it.

I had a shave from an old boy on the street in India. He was blind as a bat and just felt his way around my face. One of the better barber shaves I've ever had. I suppose I'm saying that sight isn't that important when it comes to using a straight but knowing where your fingers are is
