I knew this one would sell out before the weekend was out! Thanks again to everyone who gave us a heads up on this.

Dang. I would have given this one a shot if I'd got to the email in time. Congrats to the lucky few I hope the brush is great.

I wonder if it is a good brush and will spawn a regular offering ala SOC brush?

I'd be very upset if I dropped over $100 and got what looks an awful lot like an average run of the mill TGN silvertip knot. I'm not saying the knot is TGN but it doesn't look nearly as luxurious as a Simpson's Super for example.

I was pleasantly surprised with the 2009 limited edition boar, but for the money I just don't think I can risk it with this one.

I think the video should answer any questions about the hair quality--it looks superb!

That looks really nice in the video. I hope they come out with a cheaper select silvertip brush sometime next year, perhaps with a 20mm knot and a wooden handle.

Interesting. Based solely on appearance I suppose I could see that.

    Thanks for the info.

Based solely on appearance it doesn't look as dense as my Simpson's (pick one) but it is very hard to judge solely on appearance.

For those that missed out if you read the latest post in Bruno's Vender thread you will see that they extended the LE run to 100 brushes.

Just a heads up for those that don't visit that section of the forum.

Now I think that's just a heap of garbage. I get the distinct feeling of relief right now that I'm not a brush vendor, because it certainly seems like I'd have quite a few impossibly unpleasable customers.

Seriously you guys are displeased because the LE is now 100 instead of 50?

Pardon me, but what happened to the gentlemanly behavior of this site. Shouldn't we want more people to experience this rather than pout about 50 more people being able to experience this brush

    Talk about sad....

I'd have to say I disagree there one of the reasons people buy LE's is the "Limited" run factor it is part of the attraction of the product. I don't think that it is "impossible" at all that if one signs up for a run of an LE that states 50 will be made to expect just that. However I do accept that Semogue were in a catch 22 situation and ultimately bowed to pressure from customers who had a great desire for the product too... But (and this is a big round full bodied but) this doesn't mean that those who bought the original run (perhaps with the very short production as a deciding factor) have to be totally ok that the run is extended beyond what they thought it would be.

TBH the very mild criticism Semogue has come in for here (notice no-one has said anything against the brand or the people carrying the brush) is nothing compared to the furore sometimes generated when LE's are moved into ERs (extended runs), granted those LE's generally cost A LOT more than we're talking here but the sentiments involved are the same as are the feelings of those involved, people signed up for one thing and got another, I for one can sympathize with them I don't see how it is garbage to expect what you pay for and cancel the order when the product is changed. I respect Semogue have the right to do whatever they think is right regarding their own products and in a small business going to a rich well until it is dry seems to be a sound idea but surely you can see that a customer also has the right to cancel their order if upset by this decision and if significantly miffed post up about it on a relevant forum?

Sub, perhaps you're correct - but I'll add that I'd send that one cancelled order away with a smile, while I welcomed 51 new ones right after him.

It's just my opinion, but you didn't really want the brush that badly if you'll cancel over this, did you?

Why is there a limit of 50 (now 100) in the first place? It's just a marketing gimmick... and it seems to work .

There's a little more to it than that; exclusivity comes into play, but it's also a more difficult brush to make (ostensibly) and is likely too expensive to make sense as a permanent fixture in the lineup.

    There's a limit as it's a Limited Edition.
