    Default Laugh if you must

But I have finelly created a scuttle that actually works.
22ga double wall SS bowl, looks a tad industrial, but things that actually work please me, I just have far to much time on my hands:)

Laugh? I think most of us are pea-green with envy. How did you make it?

It looks nice, you have great talent. There are two things that you may want to consider for further designs: you probably want to use an heat insulator if you would like the lather to remain warmer for longer; and you may want to load your soap on a separate bowl, this would make lathering easier and less wasteful.

Nope, no need to laugh. That is a very good design. I like the use of the copper elbow for the filler spout. That idea has been done many times here:

more pics later.I shave in the shower so filling with hot water from the sink works by the time I get to shaving, bowl is still hot but not painfull.
Upside, 30 mins work,$1.99 for a double wall 5in. Bowl from the asian store,45 cent copper elbow.
No worrys about wasting soap, all I use is Cella and P.160,I have 2 kilos of each.

In addition to other pics, could you provide some more details on it's construction? I think it looks awesome, and I would love to build one similar myself (read it as a cheap way to try a scuttle).

You need to carefully get the hole started on the outside wall, than you can use a dremal with a burr to enlarge the hole, also to make the inside drip hole on the inside wall opisite.
Slowly grind and fit the copper elbow as close as you can get it,the closer the better.
Rough up the edge around the hole and the portion of the copper elbow for the epoxy.
Set the bowl vertical in a vice, mix two part epoxy and apply to the fitting, use enough to puddle around the hole when fitting the elbow to the bowl, allow to harden.Done.
Used it last night,It really works well,Fill with hot water to take the chill off, empty than refill (few oz of water)work up your lather holding your finger over the drip hole, need more hot water? Just tip the bowl foreward, you have water from the drip hole.

Very nice, thanks for the additional pics. I'd love to try something like this, I'll have to keep an eye out for bowls the next time I'm at the store. Really love the copper elbow. Was the lather still warm by the end of your shave? Wondering how quickly it loses heat.

Bowl and contents stays warm for maybe 20 mins, you also have instant heat.
