Lapping question

I have never lapped a hone before. When the two stones are being rubbed together in the sink, does the particles that come off the stone and go down the drain have any negative effect on the drain? Does it clog it up at all?

Sediment can build up in pipes if the water flow isn't enough to carry it away.

Use a 5 gallon bucket and water the garden afterwards.

Household plumbing is rather tolerant of sand-like particles in reality.
