What's new

Morris & Forndran Blonde Badger

Fred: Stunning brushes!!:001_tt1: Mine have gotten even better after breaking in. These brushes make it difficult to pick up and use my others. Of course, I'd love to hear that the larger is horrible. Enjoy them.

They are solid(I believe) and have a substantial feel to them! They really feel good in the hand, not light like a lot of brushes.

well..after seeing all those Horn handles, I couldn't help myself and ended ordering a large one. :blushing:

I have to say Mr. Lee Sabini is raising the bar in terms of value here and I consider these to be high end brushes with superb quality.

Here are some pics of mine, can't wait to use later tonight. Measured at 58-59mm loft, and I would say 27mm knot.

This is the heaviest brush I own, and I thought my M&F white brush was heavy. This thing weights a whooping 90 grams, (the white one weights 72grams)

My new Brush came today so of course I had to shave with it. 6 days total from Britain to Sunny (raining) California! :w00t:

Below is what it looked like before the shave...

The brush tips are MUCH whiter than in the pic...I couldn't find my photo box light and had to rely on my Droid Camera...LOL

I have to get the funk out before I post another pic, but let me just say that it was a very nice shave...!

He might just surprise you with what he has!LOL. I used the big 27m/m brush today and just have to say I am now a believer in the bigger brushes! This brush is at least as dense as my Heritage Stubby and doesn't hog lather at all. It is pure facial Nirvana! Indeed, the bar has now been raised!

How about some brush porn!!!
My new '1 of Emillion' came in today from Lee. This is one of some of his one-offs that he had and I fell in love with! It has a 25 m/m knot, 55 m/m loft, and a handle height of 60 m/m. Substantial hand feel and really looks nice! Can't wait to try it out. Just another superb brush from the master!

Wait a minute. Has M&F had a Rooney line or something? If it is, I want to see M&F Victorian. In addition that horn handled ones look like so Plisson to me.

By the way Loric and other guys are real enabler. I purchased the white one but I have to wait the postman next two weeks.

EDITED for Clarity - I recently contacted Lee, and he said that he can "buy" some handles from Rooney, so if you want a Rooney Handle, just let him know and he will get pricing and post a pic before he sets the knot. I'm really thinking about getting a Faux bone handle ala style 2 size 2 with a Heritage style knot and loft. I have a Heritage now and want to see how the Blondie stacks against it...I'll tell you tho, my Simpson's 57 is getting used less and less since I got my M&F brushes, like once in two weeks...I just like the way the Blondie feel better!

As for making the Heritage style brush knot he said the only thing is that the canons he uses to make the knots are bulb shape...he said he could make one more fan shape, but relies on the canons for length and spacing so it could be hit or miss! I trust him though...my chubby custome he made for me is poefrect in every way, and I did not have to pick out any epoxy from the base of the knot!

BTW, Lee is not the Owner of Rooney's as someone keeps saying, he WAS the Managing Director (MD), whatever that means. I think they have some of the best brushes out there and I can't wait to save some green, after my kid gets his braces, so I can stock another creation from M&F.

***I edited the post because some of the info I posted was second hand and I recently found out it was a stretch on the truth, so I deleted and changed part of this post. Sorry, Lee, for the misrepresentations.***

Excelsior!

It's hard to go back to Simpson Best or Super after the soft-tipped bliss of M&F. :thumbup1:

Wow, that's pretty interesting because it's not just random people saying he is/was the owner, it has been passed as so by respected vendors who have been in touch with him thorough out the years. If you do a simple search for 'Sabini' on any fora and go back to early posts those statements go back to the beginning of every one of the shaving forums. What you are saying sounds like it comes from him, unless it's part of the Edit disclaimer.

I always understood the Lee Sabini (and now I guess M&F) brushes as being prototypes and test beds for eventual hair and handles that would eventually show up in the Rooney lineup if successful. The first I heard of the Finest grade of hair was on a Sabini brush.
