Default I think I had a zen moment.

I got a new DE razor today, a Mühle R106, and it had the honor of removing my 2 day old beard. The entire time from when I was making the lather to when I was applying the aftershave balm I had not a single thought in my head, nothing. Just standing there and shaving, listening to how the razor cut through the stubble. And the best part was that I had the best shave since I started with a DE for a little over a week ago.

Am I crazy or do you guys also have your “zen moment”.

    Thumbs up

You're not crazy (or we're both crazy...I don't know which is worse ).

To me, that 30 minutes of "Me" time is my Zen zone...Congrats on finding your zen moment.
    Cheers,
    Robert

It seems that no matter what is going on, shave time is YOUR time. I was wondering why some people put music on to shave, I like you love to hear the razor at work... kind of like feedback when driving!!!! enjoy your ZEN

Nice! It's Zen over here every morning when I shave!

So I am not crazy or I have found a place with lots of crazy people, depends on how you look at it.

The past week I have been so focused on my shaving angle and other stuff that I really didn’t relax, will see if I have a ZEN moment tomorrow also

Yep, this is a major reason why I don't mind that it takes me 3-5 times longer to shave with a DE. It is relaxing not to worry about anything but shaving for 15-30 minutes per day.

    I love my shave!

Yes, the process of DE shaving is what I love about it. it is the one time of the day I pamper myself. Use a nice smelling cream or soap, take the time to lather, then focus on shaving. Re-lather, and do it again. It can be less expensive than cartridges, but I probably have spent the same with multiple brushes, razors, creams. It is worth every penny!

This is why so many people enjoy wet shaving. I like the focus I have to put into. It helps get my mind ready for a busy day. It is kind of like Tai Chi for your face.

You make time for what matters, so you can take your time with what matters.

Zen is right. The morning starts out perfect. Then the calm is shattered by screaming kids, or wife.

Without the "zen" moments, I doubt I would keep up with DE shaving.
I find myself shaving mostly in the evening so I don't have to feel rushed, and can completely relax. It's truely a form of meditation, I feel.

My Zen moment was interrupted by my wife's questions.

All the time... they hate when we have Zen moments. The other day I was interrupted because she felt the need to tell me my cellphone was going off....

When will they understand that it is very hard to communicate with a layer of lather and a sharp blade near our lips?

I've never understood why the wife feels she MUST SLOWLY bring my cell phone to me when I'm in the other end of the house and it rings. Why not either answer it or ignore it so I can call back later?
