    Default Proraso Soap Question

Does the Proraso White (sensitive) soap in the tub come sealed in plastic? I picked up the green tub (regular) & so I know that one was, at least when I bought it. Came with a little plastic seal band around the top, like some food does. Corollary question: Would this keep it fresher or is it just a tamper-resistant deal?

I would guess it is used more to keep the moisture in so the soap does not dry out. so in affect it is to keep it fresh.

The spare tub I have in my linen closet doesn't have that seal. I don't remember taking it off. Maybe the old la...er, I mean SWMBO took it off. I bought two tubs about six months ago, and finished off the first one within the last week or two. The spare looks fine. Maybe it does have to do with tampering?

I've had my soap for over a year with no seal and no ill effects. I'd say a plastic seal makes no diff one way or another.

I bought a tub of Proraso White this summer and I don't remember it having a plastic seal. I can't be 100% positive. Water is the primary ingredient, so even if it does dry a little (I don't think it does, though), your moist brush is going to put it back in.

Unlike some of those tub soaps, the Proraso lid is held on merely by friction instead of screwing. If there was film wrap on top, it might have just been a precautionary measure so their export stock doesn't get spilled in case of rough handling in shipment.

Do you have the newer non-lanolin Omega? If so, what is your impression?

Ok, thanks for everyone's response. Maybe I got that wrong. Maybe there was no plastic band around that cap of green Proraso ... or maybe they used to do that?

Yes I do, I looked long and hard for the older lanolin variety but came up empty handed. I think it is quite a bit like Proraso but maybe a touch more creamy. It loads/lathers like a champ, has a lot of menthol, and provides more than adequate lubrication. As always I go back and forth on the scent, but on days when I can get into it, I enjoy it. I really chose the Omega over the Proraso for the black tub. It matches my other soaps/creams better.

I have both and neither had a seal. I remember opening both at the store and smelling them.

I just opened a new one that I bought last summer during a visit to Canada. No plastic seal.
