    Yes, asymmetrically ground, like a traditional kamisori. I have not shaved with it yet, but it looks awesome.

    And yes, this is the one offered by Don over at SRD. I know it didn't last long over there! I used to have a more traditional Livi, and it was an amazing blade, so I'm hoping this one will turn out the same.

    I see now that they are indeed of Japanese origin, made from Hitachi steel, etc..

    I had thought the phrase "Golden Star" sounded very Chinese (Gold Dollar has a particular Chinese ring to it as well...), and the FON also simply sounded Chinese to me.

    The Iwasaki looks like it could have some rust in the pic. It does not, I was trying to cut the glare from direct lighting and use my iPhone.....The Iwasaki
    is pristine.

    Toyo Scheon Burg 775 and 776 along with an Iwasaki 50mm. The toyos are both very clean they look dirty but its actually reflections.
