Default SWMBO wants to know what to get me for Christmas...

So my SWMBO comes to me with the question that any man who wet shaves loves to hear...

"Hunny, what do you want for Christmas?" My eyes light up like a kid in the candy shop. So i'm recovering from a bout with RAD, in the first year that I have been wet shaving I have accuired nearly fifty razors (RAD won this round)...

So now just when I think my addictive personality has stabilized, I end up coming down with SBAD. In the past two weeks I have ordered a chubby horn custom from Rudy (just saw pics of it minutes ago, I love that man!!! ), I am putting a TGN 22mm super silvertip in it. I found an old ever-ready at the local antique shop, did a mild restoration on it and put a TGN 22mm grade A in it. I also purchased a Simpson Wee Scott, and having Bernd design a custom over at Shavemac. Not to mention I have my original Vulfix 2234 in super, that I started this money saving way of life with...

So my question is this; I was looking at purchasing a Simpson, maybe the Tulip 2 in two-band or something similar. What do you guys think? It's for Christmas so money takes a back seat on this one...

    Best Regards,

    Justin

If your shavemac is not a D01 or a two band flat top D01, ask for one of them. I cant say enough good things about them. Other than that maybe a Rooney Heritage 3 band. My Stubby 3 is as good as it gets for face lathering.

The Shavemac D01 wins for backbone, and the Stubby wins for soft tips. Good luck with your wish list!

I've owned a bunch of nice brushes...kent, shavemac, rooney and simpson as well as a semogue and i'll tell you...the $60 simpson colonel 2XL is pretty hard to beat, especially for the price.

i like it better than my rooney 3/1 and while it isn't as dense as my eagle G3, it's still very dense and works equally well with creams and soaps. you can spend more for a simpson brush, but there is a lot of goodness in the colonel.

If my SWMBO sees this she'll freak out for sure...

The first is a 22mm TGN Super Silvertip mounted in a Rudy Vey buffalo horn handle. The second is Edo's PJ1 I just bought off of the BST. Last but certainly not least is my new Tulip 3 in two-band from Roy here on B&B.

Now...What to tell her I want for Christmas???
