Today's Cream Lather

I wanted to share with you guys and gals pictures of my lather from today. It has been my greatest victory when it comes to lathering creams. So I give you AOS unscented cream from a sample pack.

How much cream did you put in? It looks like it's way too much. Not dissing, just saying. You don't need half that

Good lather/brush porn, though :biggrin1:

AoS cream does lather well. I used their little sample pack and it was sufficient for 3 good shaves with three passes each. If AoS cream was the only cream in the world, I would be okay with that! But, it is not, and many other brands of cream lather just as well and have more to offer in the way of scents. It is nice to find the creams that work best for you and this is nice to have found a cream you enjoy using.

I love their creams! I have never had a lathering problem with them. They smell great and perform great! I also love the fact that they are extremely attainable locally through most department stores. You can't loose there. :thumbup1:

I'm not concerned with scents really as much as slickness. As I find that to be the main difference between creams and soaps.

Just a newbie question but do you really need a bowl to lather up a cream? I can get some really nice fluffy lather without a bowl and I enjoy the bristles(badger) as I work it on my face. I feel it exfoliates, loosens the hair and it feels great. I soak my brush in warm water for 15 minutes while I shower so it's not too aggressive.

Edit: I have unscented TAS cream as well. But recently received GFT cream and feel it's slightly more slick.

nice ice cream, but how did it shave? (looks like you used a LOT of product - meaning that it looks very thick)

Nice lather there, quite thick really. AOS was one of my first creams when I returned to DE shaving. Really good stuff. Most creams and soaps are good and can be lathered very similar to this. It's just a matter of learning each one's properties and how much water to add.

For those who haven't gotten the sample before, it comes in like a ketchup packet type container, so it's a 1 time use, and they give you enough to lather without a brush, so yeah, there's always a ton of product if you bowl lather one of those.

However, it makes a fantastic lather, there are cheaper creams out there that are as good, but if you like their stuff, it definitely performs. It and The Body Shop are the only decent things I can get locally, and I'm not always wanting to order online if I can help it.

Good job!

AOS Uncsented cream used to be my one and only shave cream before I found this site a couple of years ago. Back then I didn't even use a brush, just used it as a brushless cream and it worked great. Now, i use it with a brush & it is on a whole never level.

I just barely dip my brush tips in AoS (tub), and get plenty of lather. While it's pricey, that tub is going to last a long time, and yes, it's a really slick shave.
