Default Proraso "Omega" Boar Brush (Target)

This is the only brush I've ever used and have been using it for about a month with Proraso cream. Both were bought at Target. Total price for both was about $20 flat.

I'm sure I will upgrade to badger hair at some point, but this brush has been a pleasure to use. I recommend a nice deep cappucino mug (also to be had at target) for lathering with it. Fill the cup with hot water, brush inside of it. Swish your brush around as if making lather. Empty the water and hold the brush bristle down until water stops streaming out. Give it one light vertical shake and put back in the mug. A one inch long bit of cream is all you need for 4 passes.

Lather is best built with an aggressive wrist motion and firm downward pressure. You shouldn't be dainty with this brush.

The first time you run water over the new brush it will have quite a bit of stink. The plus side is that the Proraso cream knocks this out in about two days.

I don't have a brush stand, but the brush dries out and fans out perfectly if you shake it out good and leave it upside down overnight (bristles up).

Its only been a month, but durability is good, I haven't noticed any escaped hairs.

    Nice Review.

I also enjoy this brush. Makes great lather with soaps, which is what I use it for. Creams get done with my badgers.

    For $12.99, why not indeed.

I bought this brush mainly because of the size( yeah, right- resistance is futile!).

Not only do I love its size, I have found that when 'painting' the lather on my face, nothing else can beat it. It really does a tremendous job in that area.

I have also noticed that the bristles are getting softer also- which ain't bad at all! Every time I use it, I keep thinking to myself how it would be with it's current size but with silvertip bristles. I have decided to buy another one and place it in my travel kit- why settle for a smaller version, when this will more than admirably do the job.

Plus, imagine the look on family members faces when I say( with apologies to Mel Brooks) "Excuse me, while I whip this out."

I currently own a Crabtree SuperBadger, a Kent and a Muhle Pinsel Badger but I still find the time to use this brush. Works well with most soaps and creams. If your going to get a boar bristle brush; get this one.

Lightbulb Anyone else having trouble finding Proraso at Target???

I nearly walked out of Target the other day without the Proraso that I had gone there specifically to buy... the reason being that they didn't put it amongst the other shaving products.

It seems to me to be a pretty poor decision to place is in/around the cosmetics section -- when I want to buy shaving related items, I'm not going to be puttering around the lipgloss section.

So anyways, I sent an email to Target through their website -- if people want to be able to continue to buy the stuff at Target (which is a function of the sale of Proraso products), you might want to consider sending them an email and request that it be put in a more obvious and/or visible location.

do a search on the forum for this topic. it came up before. in response- yes it may not be the most convenient/obvious placement for this product, but it would cost thousands of dollars to change it on Target's part. Plus, Proraso would have to pay more for a spot near Gillette and Nivea. As well- for all you know, Gillette and Nivea could have bought out all of that space and it's not possible for any new entrants into the planogram to reduce competition.

Proraso, while inexpensive compared to other shave products discussed on this website is a high end item for Target. $12 for the ASB and around $10 for the Pre/Post; it is more expensive than their other shave items. Plus I believe that they are trying to make it 'luxury' line of products so they place it in the Spa Section. Its only a couple isles away from the shave section at my Target so, I believe they do have it where it belongs.

Also asking someone I felt like a total idiot cuz this is what happened:

Me: Hi where can I find Proraso Shaving cream?
    Sales dude: Pro-what?
    Me: Proraso.
Sales dude: You said shaving cream right? That stuff is all in aisle #whatever
Me: I checked its not there.
Sales dude: then we dont have it bro. peace out

    k- to find proraso:

walk up and down the aisles right around the shaving area. It should be mostly filled with expensive womens makeup and cream. there is one 4ft section that has the Sharp's Barber Brigade and Proraso on it.

While I say "peace out" as a joke to friends, saying it to a customer of the store that employs you should be grounds for a beating about the head, neck, and face region!!!

Customer service is dead. I called Target and was told they didn't carry Proraso. I was in the same store and asked someone near the pharmacy(50 feet from the Proraso) and was told they didn't carry it. In the store the third time looking for a micro-fiber cloth and just stumbled upon it by chance.

I haven't even been able to get any Proraso from Target for over a month .....my Target's been out since before Christmas, except for the Proraso in a can. I finally had to order it online for $10. I guess the secret's out, or somebody's buying up the whole stock every time they get some in.

It's sad. I used to expect this service at Wal-Mart. But usually I just couldn't find anyone at Target...

Best customer service I've had in recent memory was from, surprisingly, Walmart. Every 30 seconds the operator would come on and apologize for the wait and explain exactly who she paged(department, employee or manager, etc). Course the other 3 Walmarts I called either dropped my call during a transfer or just never answered the phone.

Absolute worst experience I've had was Whole Foods. The girl who answered put the phone down and kept on with her conversation. After about 20-30 seconds she just hung up.

My target only had a can of foam and two AS Lotions left. Hopefully, they'll restock.

Every Target I've been to in the past 3 weeks has been out of stock on almost ALL of the Proraso products. The signs are there but there's no inventory. I ended up having to buy it online from classicshaving.com. Eventually it will get here.

Does Target even have employees? I can't say as I've ever seen one. Maybe "a" checker, but that's about it.

I've found Proraso at all 3 Target stores I have visited. And it is always closer to the Cosmetics, not the shaving products. And remember. It's Proraso. If you did not know what it is, HOW would you know what it is. I'm not defending any of the clerks, but this is truly a specialized, unknown product.
