Default Might as well have a La Toja thread.

We have the plethora of Williams, MWF and Tabac threads (a few Palmolive too). So I figured it was time to show some love for La Toja. I tried it the first time a few weeks ago as it was in the Canadian Traveling Box. I feel that this may be the nicest smelling soaps I have ever tried. I described it as a fresh air smell akin to how the air smells on a brisk autumn day after a frost the previous night. Performance wise I would personally rank it up with the good tallow soaps. Has anyone else had a chance to try a stick of this? What did you think?

This stuff is fantastic. I get an excellent lather that is as slippery as all get out and very moisturizing. Try this on 2 days stubble and you can get an unbelievably close shave.

La Toja lathers like crazy and shows again that you don't need tallow to get thick incredible lather.

Haven't used mine in awhile, but may have to sometime this week.

I purchased five La Toja sticks last July, directly in Spain during my vacation in Madrid. I spent my entire holiday period (about one week) shaving every morning exclusively with this great Spanish soap. La Toja rocks! Too bad it is unavailable here in Italy.

Joe, I totally agree. There are many top quality soaps that are not tallow based: La Toja, Valobra Crema di Sapone, Martin de Candre and Acca Kappa 1869, just to mention a few. That said, I obviously also love tallow...

    I hate it.

Kidding. One the best veggie soaps available. I don't love scent, meaning I don't sneak whiffs whilst in the bathroom, but it certainly isn't off putting. Every shaving stick should come with the same plastic base and tube. I do wish the tube would screw on, but that would only make this wonderful product more expensive.

    Three cheers for La Toja!

I generally love the tallow based soaps more, but just sampled MdC and it was a great, great soap as well. Acca Kappa is my favorite cream at the moment.

In fact, most of the French veggie soaps blow any of the english ones out of the water. GFT is ok, but man I really like Institute Karite and Provence Sante.

In terms of mounds of lather though, La Toja produces like no other.

There are three La Toja sticks on their way to me at this very moment. I can't wait to try them.

La Toja is simply legendary stuff... I can't get enough of it... Soon it will a be an all La Toja affair, upon receiving the splash and balm!

I love the scent, it lathers great, but I don't get as slick lather compared to other soaps. I get slight irritation when I use and my top pick soaps don't give me any. So it doesn't see as much use, but then my skin is very sensitive and I can see how others love it.

I've also ordered La Toja splash and balm hoping for the same scent, but they smell nothing like it.

Gave the La Toja stick a spin this morning, since this thread got me thinking about it. Every time I use this soap I can't believe how good it performs. Followed up with Musgo Real splash ... nice!
