I got a wiff of it today from my boss. I got a rose/floral scent from it and was curious if anyone who has it would say it is similar to Black Aoud.

I've only smelled a decant. To my nose, Lyric isn't terribly similar to Black Aoud. While they are both dark rose frags, the difference is the oud (or aoud) in the Montale.
Been awhile since I've sniffed either, but confident and saying Lyric is NOT like Black Aoud. Not over a day's wearing.
I remember BA having the dark musky notes from the oud. Lyric I remember the rose being very pronounced- a bit too much so for me.

This is a little off the topic, but i visited the Perfumes Raffy store in LA (also an online store) and they had Amouage mini spray bottle testers for sale. They're larger than most samples (3ml?) and milliliter-per-dollar, it works out to be cheaper than the full bottle. I bought "Epic" and gave it a generous test-drive.
