I have for about 20 years carried a coin pouch made from a Kangaroo scrotum. I have both a couple of commercial types ( one i had to retire from 10 years use) and i have a special one with grey fur on the outside that a mate cut, cleaned and tanned for me.Its a great coin purse but i do prefer the commercial de haired version for everyday use. They are available at the aussie tourist shops and sizes vary greatly.A word of advice is to try a 50 cent piece through the opening. They will stretch a fair amount but as being a natural product you can only stretch so far.I even got one that shows signs of scar tissue.

I used to carry Susan B coins for tips for people but they kept looking at me like I was a cheapo thinking they were quarters. So now I only carry $2 bills for tips.

Coins i put in my pocket or if I'm wearing jeans they go in the "Coin" pocket. My challenge coin stays in my wallet.

I carry this Osgood Marley coin purse thing.

It works perfect in my pocket. I keep it loaded with change and one 10 sided die.

If I don't have a dollar bill for the bus, then I'll carry some quarters in a change pouch.

No. My coinage ends up in my ashtray in the truck. If I wander into a store, I might gab an assortment. When I done, it goes right back into the ashtray.

Ten sided dice are of course built for Role Playing Games but they also work for a game of makeshift poker or to gamble on the high roll.

I see you're the type of fellow who doesn't need to calculate damage on a bastard sword or battle axe very often.

    The answer is no.
I do not carry a coin pouch or purse.

Oh, I had a feeling it had something to do with RPGs. I used to have a 20-sided shifter knob in my Honda...

I was thinking about purchasing one like this and was wondering if any of you carry your change in a pouch of some sort?
I am one of these "elder types" that carry a coin purse. I got mine when the V.A. New Orleans Credit Union was passing them out to the employees as a rolling advertisement. It has been well used, and has a brass zipper. I use it to carry bus fares, and loose bills. Also, if something were to happen to my 'checkbook wallet', I can still get home! As a young man overseas, I learned that you carry your money -separate- from your wallet.

Being european, carrying coins is a bigger part of my life than the average american's. And yes, I keep them in a pouch.

I will carry change just long enough for me to get from the cashier to the nearest tip jar or other receptacle

Same here. After all, we have 2 euro coins. That's $2.53! I just put them in my pocket, unless I am wearing a suit in which case I avoid carrying change.

Sure, I carry one. Coins wear holes in suit pants pockets and in the city it is good to have some change.

I never use coins. When I get home I throw all my loose change in a jar. Been doing this for at least 5 years. In the past year I've used it to buy several nice shave brushes, a new power supply and video card for my pc and I still have enough for another brush or two.

This thread reminded me that I used to regularly carry a leather "squeeze to open" coin purse which I lost track of years ago. Yesterday I bought one of these off eBay. Hopefully its a relatively flat and small diameter form factor.

I don't save change or discard change as gratuities in coffee shops and the like. When purchasing something with cash I provide exact change, or as close to it as possible, with every transaction. Unfortunately, I lose some of the loose change in car seats so this new coin purse should resolve that. As long as it's not to big in my front pocket.
