    Default Greetings and Felicitations

I feel like I have been lied to most of my life in the shaving realm. When I started shaving at 18 - I knew there was a problem as when I shaved two days in a row my face would turn bright red and burn like hades. Regardless of how much Brut I put on the face- nothing would tone it or stop it. Now at 36, after seeing dermatologists for special shaving cream - I have discovered wet shaving.

Why the heck didn't anyone tell me about this?!

I'm still learning what works for my face- and the differences between AB and AS and what will stop the redness.. I'm trying razor blades as quick as I can. However, I'm also enjoying what most of you have written and I look forward to joining in the fun.

    Cheers

    Eptreyg

    Welcome!

I also remember a few years ago shaving with a Mach3; I couldn't shave 2 days in a row without some irritation. Now I look forward to shaving every day, it is a treat and is enjoyable!

I am confident you'll see improvement in your skin comfort using a DE as opposed to whatever you were using before to bother your skin so much. You should still give your face a day or two break if there's still some irritation as you're still learning. If you're anything like me, shaving an irritated area is just going to make it worse! Just take it slow and enjoy the shave (remember, LIGHT pressure) and your face will thank you for it!

Before long you'll have even forgotten about all the problems you used to have with shaving.
